What’s AeroMéxico’s baggage policy?
Carry-on
AeroMéxico cargo permits two carry-on bags, each measuring 21.5 inches x 15.7 inches x 10 inches and weighing only 22 pounds. Personal things such as purses, Musical Instruments, and laptop bags are considered carry-ons by the airline.
Allowances for newborns vary depending on where you’re flying from and to. Flights from the United States (American Express) to Mexico, for example, allow one bag and two extra goods, such as a stroller, diaper bag, or bassinet. They limit flights within Mexico to two goods in total.
Wheelchairs, crutches, travel orthopedic devices, pharmaceuticals, syringes, and oxygen concentrators are permitted in the plane cabin, though some may require medical paperwork. Wheelchairs with built-in batteries must be inspected.
Smart bags with removable batteries are inspected at both the counter and the gate and may be permitted to board with the battery removed. Small and medium-sized batteries, such as those found in personal electronic gadgets, are permitted in the cabin.
Hoverboards, firearms or ammunition, Samsung Galaxy Note7 tablets, combustible goods of any type, enamel paints, acids, and corrosives are all prohibited. View the complete list of prohibited products.
Objects of value (jewelry, art, documents, etc.), fragile items, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and perishables should be carried in carry-on luggage, according to Aeromexico. Liquids must be in three-ounce containers that fit inside a one-quart clear, transparent, resealable plastic bag.
Checked bags
Aeromexico, like many other airlines, has varied checked luggage allowances depending on where you’re flying to and from as well as the type of ticket you have.
Aeromexico, for example, allows one free checked bag with a Main Cabin ticket and two free bags with a Clase Premier ticket while flying from and to Mexico. A Main Cabin trip from the United States to Mexico does not offer any free checked bags.
If you select this fare, your first checked bag will cost $30, the second $55, and the third $180. They can check any additional luggage for $200 per piece. You can check two pieces of baggage for free if you book a Clase Premier ticket for the same flight. They can check additional bags for the same prices as mentioned above.
An additional piece bag fee will vary depending on your departure and arrival locations, as well as your fare. For example, if you have a Classic ticket and your origin or destination is in Central America, the Caribbean, Peru, Ecuador, or Colombia, they will charge you $40 to hand over your suitcase at check-in. The price is $60 if your origin or destination is in Brazil, Argentina, or Chile (including any international routes).

How to avoid checked bag fees on AeroMéxico
Related: Lufthansa Sizes: Luggage Allowances, Seats…
1. Only pack a carry-on
This is an obvious tactic, but it is also effective. If you find yourself booked on a flight that will cost you upwards of $30 per bag, consider what you truly need to bring with you.
Leave bulky amenities like shampoo and conditioner at home and only bring what you need when you arrive. If you use your space wisely, you can avoid having to check any piece of baggage at all.
2. Join a club premier
Aeromexico’s customer loyalty program, Club Premier, operates differently than most other airlines’ schemes. Yes, you can get points when you fly, but you can also earn points when you cruise, rent a car, stay in a hotel, or purchase on specific websites.
When you gain enough points, you can advance to the Gold, Platinum, or Titanium tiers of the AeroMéxico Club Premier. Each level includes one free checked bag when flying to the United States or Canada, and as few as 50,000 Qualifying Premier Points will advance you to the top tier (Gold).
Earning points is simpler than you think. You can earn miles when you fly with Delta besidesClub Premier when booking various travel arrangements.
3. Buy premier tickets
Luggage fees will vary depending on where you are flying and the class of ticket purchased. Although the basic economy and some Main Cabin tickets only allow for carry-on, most Clase Premier fares include at least one complimentary checked bag.
If you know you’ll be checking one or more bags, do the arithmetic to determine if upgrading to a higher-class ticket will save you money on baggage costs.
4. Get a co-branded credit card
Aeromexico Visa Signature, Aeromexico Visa, and Aeromexico Visa Secured cards are available through U.S. Bank. Each card comes with a complimentary checked bag perk and earns Club Premier miles when used. New cardholders can also earn thousands of miles as a welcome incentive.
If you fly with this airline or one of its partners, these are the finest airline credit cards. They also come with a variety of other benefits that vary depending on which one you have. Complementary and $99 companion certificates, bonus points for renewing your card (minimal annual fees apply), double miles earned on gas and grocery, and a free upgrade every year are all benefits.
5. Use a general travel card
The finest travel credit cards are an excellent way to avoid luggage costs. Some, such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve, provide an annual travel allowance by covering airline prices.
You can also see if you can transfer points from any of your other reward cards to Club Premium and then use those points to pay for your luggage. Customers can transfer points from several credit cards to Club Premier through partnerships with AeroMéxico.
